So I’m not at the salon right now, but I had to post some before and after pictures of the color I did on Roxanne.

So amazing….

I’ve been terrible at starting this blog.

Well, here I am.  A stylist once and for all.  I’ve paid my dues both monetarily and time-wise, so it’s finally my time to shine.

My clientele is building.  Slowly, but surely.

I’ve been doing a lot of men’s haircuts.  A LOT.

And because of this, I’ve been really antsy to get some color clients.  I’ve been trained in one of the best schools around, under one of the best companies around, and am now working for a phenomenal educator for a different company- so I’d say my training has been pretty substantial.

So far, it’s just been easier to get men to come in.  They’re usually looking to go to a place where they can relax, that’s not a typical barber shop, and yet they don’t feel out of place being their particular gender.  And I think our salon is the perfect answer to that.  But I suppose I’m a bit biased.

I’ve been working at Imij for almost 2 years.  I started when I had just begun my journey towards being a hairdresser, when I had no clue how much shampoo to use or what products did what.  But I learned.  Thanks to my Learning Leaders at school and my boss (although she doesn’t like being called that) here at the salon, I feel that I have had a tremendous educational experience that would be very hard to beat.

I mean, with Paul Mitchell (that’s the school I attended) I’ve worked alongside platform artists such as Mikel Sandoval and Ladonna Dryer and taken classes from Kelly Cardenas and D.J. Muldoon, to name just a few.  Now I’m working in a salon that is owned by a Redken educator and whose clientele is as abundant as the population of my hometown [or so it seems]- therefore, my learning will continue daily.  And for that I am forever grateful.

Well- I’ve got to cut my blog short.  My “boss” just came to find me because there’s a mess I made in her appointment book.  Gotta go clean it up.

Stay classy.
